A Washington woman accused of sexually assaulting her teenage daughter’s ex-boyfriend will remain in jail without bond following a court ruling this week.
According to the Tazewell County State’s Attorney’s Office, Robyn Polston is facing two counts of criminal sexual assault and two counts of child pornography. Investigators say the alleged abuse occurred between 2024 and 2025, but the grooming began in 2023 while the victim, then 14, was dating Polston’s daughter.
Court documents reveal that detectives found numerous sexually explicit images and videos involving Polston and the teen on seized cellphones. Authorities said Polston allegedly purchased burner phones for herself and the minor and used fake names to conceal their identities. She later tried to persuade the victim to help cover up their relationship, according to prosecutors.
During Tuesday’s bond hearing, prosecutors argued that Polston could not be trusted to avoid contact with the victim if released. They also claimed that her family members had enabled her actions and would not ensure compliance with release conditions.
Associate Judge Derek Asbury agreed, ordering Polston to remain in custody while awaiting trial.
Polston’s next court appearance is scheduled for December 4.
