A woman who was shot and killed late Tuesday night on Indianapolis’ near northwest side has been identified as Ashley Sanders, according to the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department.
Officers responded to reports of a shooting and found Sanders suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite efforts by emergency personnel, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Police have arrested 38-year-old Steven Baker Jr. in connection with the shooting. He was taken into custody without incident and is being held as detectives continue their investigation.
Authorities have not yet released details about what led up to the shooting or a possible motive.
