Three Family Members Charged With Murder and Torture of 8-Year-Old Boy Found in Cooler in Lynwood

A mother, father, and grandmother from Lynwood have been charged with the murder and torture of an 8-year-old boy whose body was found inside a cooler at an apartment complex, authorities said.

According to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, Destiny Luckie Harrison, 25, Daniel Alberto Monzon, 25, and Ana Carcamo Zarceno, 45, each face one felony count of murder, torture, and child abuse resulting in death. Prosecutors also filed special allegations that the defendants caused willful harm leading to the child’s death. Monzon and Zarceno face additional charges as accessories after the fact.

The victim, identified as Isaiah H., is believed to have died early on October 24, 2025, from injuries linked to months of physical abuse that allegedly began as early as April, investigators said. His body was discovered on October 28 after a resident at the Lynwood apartment complex requested a welfare check.

Authorities described the case as one of prolonged and severe abuse, allegedly carried out by all three family members.

During a court appearance in Compton on October 31, Harrison appeared in person but hid her face from cameras using manila folders held by her attorney. Monzon refused to attend the hearing, while Zarceno cited illness and did not appear, officials said.

The three suspects were arrested on October 29 and formally charged the following day. Each is being held on $2 million bail and faces a potential sentence of 32 years to life in state prison if convicted.

Authorities said identifying Isaiah was initially difficult because no school records existed for the child, and both parents are accused in his death.

After the discovery, three other children—ages 16, 14, and 9 months—were removed from the home. Prosecutors said one of the children may have witnessed some of the abuse.

The investigation is ongoing and is being handled by the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department and the District Attorney’s Office.
