Authorities in Philadelphia have confirmed that human remains discovered in a wooded area behind an abandoned school belong to 23-year-old Kada Scott, who had been reported missing for approximately two weeks.
According to the Philadelphia District Attorney’s Office, the remains were found earlier this week during a search near the vacant property. Forensic investigators later confirmed the identity through medical examination.
Scott was last seen in early October, and family members had made public appeals for information on her whereabouts. The discovery has left loved ones devastated, bringing a heartbreaking end to the search.
“This is a tragic outcome that no family should ever have to face,” a spokesperson for the District Attorney’s Office said. “We extend our deepest condolences to Ms. Scott’s family and friends during this incredibly difficult time.”
Authorities have not yet released details on how long the remains may have been buried or the cause of death. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is now leading the investigation.
Investigators are urging anyone with information about Scott’s disappearance or death to contact police at 215-686-TIPS.
