LYNWOOD, Calif. — Authorities have filed charges against the parents and grandmother of a 7-year-old boy who was found dead inside a freezer at the family’s apartment earlier this week.
The horrifying discovery was made after Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputies conducted a welfare check at the residence, following concerns raised by neighbors who had not seen the child for several days. When investigators searched the apartment, they discovered the boy’s body concealed inside a freezer.
Law enforcement officials confirmed that the child’s mother, father, and grandmother have been taken into custody and are now facing multiple criminal charges, though specific counts have not yet been publicly disclosed.
Detectives are awaiting the results of an autopsy from the Los Angeles County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the cause of death.
Neighbors described the situation as deeply disturbing.
