Officials have released new details about the deadly shooting at Lincoln University that left one person dead and six others injured late Sunday night.
According to the Chester County District Attorney’s Office, the victim killed has been identified as 25-year-old Jujuan Jeffers of Wilmington, Delaware. Investigators said Jeffers died shortly after midnight from a gunshot wound to the head.
Six other people, ranging in age from 20 to 25, were also shot. Police said one of the victims is a current Lincoln University student, one is an alumnus, and the other four have no known connection to the university. All six are expected to survive.
Authorities have arrested Zecqueous Morgan-Thompson, also from Wilmington, on a charge of carrying a concealed firearm without a license. He is being held at Chester County Prison on $25,000 cash bail. Investigators have not yet confirmed whether the gun found in his possession was used in the shooting.
During a Monday afternoon press conference, Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said investigators believe there were multiple shooters involved. Early evidence suggests the shooting stemmed from a violent altercation during an on-campus event, not a pre-planned attack.
The crime scene remains active and extensive, with K-9 units assisting in evidence searches. Detectives are interviewing witnesses and reviewing video footage from the scene.

In the aftermath of the shooting, Lincoln University canceled Monday classes and announced plans for a remembrance event to honor Jeffers and support the victims and campus community.
