The community of Oceana is mourning the loss of Sue Ellen Workman, 46, who passed away on Thursday, October 30, 2025. Born on June 28, 1979, in Logan, West Virginia, Sue Ellen was the daughter of Carolyn Cook and the late Kenneth Workman.
Sue Ellen was known for her deep love of animals and the outdoors. Her happiest moments were spent caring for her horses, riding four-wheelers, hunting, fishing, and enjoying vacations with her family. She also cherished playing sports with her sons and spending time with her loved ones.
In addition to her father, Sue Ellen was preceded in death by her son Easton Lee Workman, grandmothers Kathleen Workman and Violet Whitt, grandfather Johnny Thomas, and brother Kenneth Lee Workman.
She is survived by her mother Carolyn Cook, wife Amanda Wright, son Ashton Reed, brother Jonathan Workman, stepfather Ronald Cook, and many other family members and friends who will forever hold her memory close.
A funeral service will be held at 12 p.m. on Monday, November 10, at Christ Community Church in Jesse, WV. Friends may gather with the family one hour prior to the service. Following the ceremony, Sue Ellen will be cremated.
The Stafford Family Funeral Home in Lynco is serving the Workman family during this difficult time.
