Nelson “Pastor” Silva-Gonzalez Identified as Victim in Deadly South Lansing Domestic Shooting

Police have identified the man killed in a weekend shooting on Lansing’s south side as 60-year-old Nelson “Pastor” Silva-Gonzalez.

According to the Lansing Police Department, officers were called to a home in the 5500 block of South Lansing on Sunday evening following reports of gunfire. When they arrived, they found Silva-Gonzalez suffering from gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say the shooting appears to have been domestic-related, though details about the suspect or what led up to the violence have not yet been released.
Silva-Gonzalez was well known in the local community and remembered by friends and neighbors as a kind, hardworking man devoted to his family and faith.

Police are continuing to investigate the case and are urging anyone with information to contact the Lansing Police Department or submit an anonymous tip through Crime Stoppers.
