MAESTEG, WALES — Police have launched an investigation after a man was found dead at a property in Brick Row, Maesteg, in the early hours of Sunday morning.
According to South Wales Police, officers were called to the scene shortly after receiving reports of a sudden death. Upon arrival, they discovered the body of a man inside the property.
In a statement, a police spokesperson confirmed that the death is not being treated as suspicious.
“South Wales Police can confirm the sudden death of a man at a property in Brick Row, Maesteg, during the early hours of Sunday morning,” the spokesperson said. “There are no suspicious circumstances and an investigation is ongoing.”
Detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death, and a file will be prepared for the coroner. The man’s identity has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
Local residents described the area as generally quiet, with many expressing sadness over the discovery.
