The Renmore teenager is remembered as a kind, talented, and thoughtful student who inspired all who knew him.
A school community in County Galway has paid a deeply emotional tribute following the death of one of its students, describing Adam Nagajek as “a kind, talented, and thoughtful young man.”
The 17-year-old, from Blackthorn Park in Renmore, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, surrounded by his family, after a long battle with illness.
Adam, whose parents are originally from Poland, was diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a rare form of bone cancer, when he was just nine years old. Despite the challenges he faced, Adam was known for his resilience, creativity, and gentle nature.
In a statement, Adam’s school expressed deep sadness at his passing, saying:
“Adam was an exceptional student whose kindness and quiet strength inspired everyone around him. He faced every challenge with courage and optimism, and his loss is deeply felt by all who knew him.”
The school has made counseling supports available for students and staff as the community comes to terms with the loss.
Friends and classmates have described Adam as “always smiling” and “a true inspiration.”
Funeral arrangements will be announced in the coming days.
