Granite City Shooting Victim Identified as 26-Year-Old Carpenter and Father, Jesus Escobedo

Police have identified the victim of a deadly shooting at Patrick’s Bar over the weekend as 26-year-old Jesus Escobedo of Granite City.

The incident happened late Saturday night, October 25, 2025, when officers responded to reports of gunfire at the bar. Escobedo was taken to Gateway Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

According to his family, Escobedo worked as a carpenter for Icon Design in Hazelwood, Missouri. Loved ones described him as a devoted father who enjoyed traveling and spending time with his daughter and family.

Escobedo was born on April 8, 1999, in Granite City. He is survived by his mother, Shannon Rene Escobedo, his father, Adrian Escobedo, his daughter, Annalyse Escobedo, and several siblings.

Visitation will be held from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, October 30, at Kurrus Funeral Home in Belleville. Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 a.m. on Friday, October 31, with burial to follow at Holy Cross Catholic Cemetery in Fairview Heights.

The Granite City Police Department continues to investigate the shooting. No arrests have been made.
