Police in Batangas have arrested a 27-year-old foreign national accused of causing significant damage to a rented house in Barangay San Isidro, Batangas City.
Authorities identified the suspect only as a.k.a. Joshua, a native of New York, USA, who was renting a home owned by a.k.a. Rust, a 61-year-old businessman from the same barangay.
According to police, Joshua allegedly destroyed several parts of the property, including the bathroom, ceiling, built-in cabinets, aluminum windows, wall panels, and doorknobs. The total cost of the damage is estimated at ₱300,000.
Following the incident, police from the Batangas Component City Police Station launched a follow-up operation and arrested the suspect in Barangay Sinisian East, Lemery on October 20, 2025.
Batangas Police Provincial Director PCOL SIBALO said the incident shows the police’s firm stance against property damage and vandalism, regardless of nationality.
“We will not tolerate acts of vandalism and destruction of property in our province. This arrest demonstrates our commitment to upholding the law and protecting the rights of property owners. Dine sa Batangas, walang takas!”
The suspect remains in police custody as authorities prepare to file formal charges of malicious mischief.
