Bloomington Man Arrested in Fatal Road Rage Shooting in Colton

A Bloomington man has been arrested in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred Monday afternoon in Colton.

According to the Colton Police Department, officers responded to reports of gunfire near North Rancho Avenue and West Valley Boulevard around 12:36 p.m. on October 27, 2025. When they arrived, officers found a man suffering from life-threatening gunshot wounds.

The victim, identified as Armando Andrez Cayetano, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries. Investigators learned that Cayetano had been involved in an altercation with another motorist, which escalated into a deadly confrontation. The suspect fled the scene immediately after the shooting.

Detectives with the Colton Police Department took over the investigation and, through various leads, identified Lorens Cota, a resident of Bloomington, California, as the suspected shooter. Cota was arrested later that evening and booked into the West Valley Detention Center, where he is being held without bail.
