Elk Grove Police Arrest Girlfriend, Identify Suspect in Deadly Z Town Gastro Pub Shooting

Elk Grove, CA – November 5, 2025

Elk Grove Police have identified the suspect and made an arrest connected to a deadly shooting that erupted early Sunday morning at Z Town Gastro Pub, leaving one man dead and three others injured.

According to investigators, the suspect has been identified as 43-year-old Roderick Randall of Sacramento, who remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous. Detectives say the shooting stemmed from an argument between Randall and one of the victims.

Officers responded to reports of gunfire around 1:30 a.m. Sunday, where they discovered three victims suffering from gunshot wounds. An 18-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene, while a 34-year-old man and a 26-year-old man were rushed to the hospital. A fourth victim, age 25, later arrived at a nearby hospital by private vehicle.

Police confirmed that the 34-year-old remains in critical condition, while the two surviving victims are in stable condition and expected to recover.

In a key development, detectives arrested 25-year-old Thao Tran, identified as Randall’s girlfriend, for being an accessory to a crime (Penal Code 32). Tran was booked into the Sacramento County Main Jail, where she is being held without bail.
