A tragic shooting on Milwaukee’s north side has left one woman dead and another injured following an incident late Tuesday night.
According to the Milwaukee Police Department, the shooting occurred just before 9:45 p.m. near North 39th Street and West Lancaster Avenue. When officers arrived at the scene, they found two women suffering from gunshot wounds.
The Milwaukee County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the victim as 26-year-old Ariel Spillner, a resident of Arena, Wisconsin. She was pronounced dead at the scene. The second woman, aged 31, was transported to a local hospital for treatment and is expected to survive.
Investigators later confirmed that the 31-year-old woman, whose name has not yet been released, has been taken into custody in connection with the shooting. Authorities said the case will be reviewed by the Milwaukee County District Attorney’s Office for potential charges.
Police continue to investigate the motive behind the shooting but believe it was an isolated incident.
