Authorities in Huron Township have arrested two men in connection with a violent sexual assault that occurred in the early hours of October 29, 2025. Investigators say a woman managed to escape a residence in the Huron Estates Mobile Home Community after being held against her will and assaulted throughout the night.
Police say the victim contacted the Huron Township Emergency Dispatch Center around 11:24 a.m., reporting that she had fled the home where she was attacked. Detectives quickly launched an investigation, which led to the arrest of two suspects — 52-year-old Albert Joseph Knapp Jr. of Huron Township and 59-year-old Stanley James Mason of Pontiac.
Knapp, identified as the homeowner, was taken into custody after multiple search warrants were executed. Mason was later located and arrested in Oakland County with the help of the township’s FLOCK camera system, which captured critical vehicle information that aided in identifying him.
Both men have been charged by the Wayne County Prosecutor’s Office with multiple counts, including Criminal Sexual Conduct – First Degree (Accomplices), Third Degree Criminal Sexual Conduct (Force or Coercion), and Assault with Intent to Commit Sexual Penetration. Mason and Knapp were each arraigned and given a $75,000 bond with GPS monitoring requirements if released.
Their probable cause hearings are set for November 12, 2025, at the 34th District Court.
Huron Township Director of Public Safety Everette Robbins praised the victim’s bravery and the swift work of investigators.
“We are so thankful that the victim had the opportunity to flee and get herself to a safe place,” Robbins said. “The outcome could have been much worse, and I applaud her courage. This case also shows the value of our FLOCK camera system, which allowed us to identify and apprehend the second suspect quickly.”
Authorities say the investigation remains active as detectives continue to review evidence and interview witnesses.
