Police: Man Kills Ex-Girlfriend Outside Duluth Workplace Before Taking Own Life After Chase

Authorities say a tragic murder-suicide that began in Duluth on Thursday claimed the lives of two young people.

According to the Gwinnett County Police Department, 23-year-old Caprice Hudson fatally shot his ex-girlfriend, Eliajia Whitley, outside her workplace in Duluth. Officers were called to the scene after reports of gunfire, where Whitley was found suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

Investigators say Hudson fled the area, prompting a statewide search. The pursuit ended hours later in Columbia County, where Hudson reportedly took his own life following a police chase.

Detectives believe the shooting was domestic in nature and stemmed from a prior relationship between Hudson and Whitley.

Police say the investigation remains active as they continue gathering evidence and interviewing witnesses.
