A 19-year-old man has been arrested after allegedly shooting a woman during the early hours of Sunday morning in Sherman.
According to the Sherman Police Department, officers responded at 1:53 a.m. on November 2, 2025, to the intersection of West McGee Street and North Travis Street following reports of a female with a gunshot wound.
Upon arrival, officers found an adult woman suffering from a single gunshot wound to her back. She was alert and able to speak with officers before being transported to a nearby hospital. Police said she is expected to recover.
Investigators determined that the victim and the suspect, identified as 19-year-old Tradavian Taylor, had both attended a party earlier in the evening. After the event, the victim reportedly offered Taylor and another passenger a ride. When Taylor exited the vehicle, he allegedly pulled out a handgun and fired one round into the driver’s seat, striking the victim.
Authorities believe the incident occurred after the victim declined Taylor’s request to accompany him back to his residence.
Detectives later located Taylor in the 1400 block of North Highland, where they executed search warrants and recovered additional evidence linking him to the shooting.
An arrest warrant was obtained for two counts of Aggravated Assault with a Deadly Weapon, and Taylor was taken into custody without further incident.
