A man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman after a fire broke out at a flat in Dundee earlier this week.
Emergency services were called to the property shortly after midnight, where firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze. Despite their efforts, a woman was found seriously injured inside the flat and was later pronounced dead at the scene.
Police Scotland confirmed that a man has now been arrested and charged in connection with the incident. Detectives have launched a full investigation to determine the circumstances surrounding the fire and the woman’s death.
A Police Scotland spokesperson said, “A man has been charged in connection with the death of a woman following a fire at a property in Dundee. Inquiries are ongoing.”
The identity of the victim has not yet been released pending formal identification and notification of her family.
