BRANSFORD, Worcestershire — Three people have died following a devastating collision between a car and a heavy goods vehicle (HGV) on the A4103 Hereford to Worcester Road on Thursday afternoon.
The West Midlands Ambulance Service said it received reports of the crash near Bransford at approximately 3:25 p.m. Emergency crews rushed to the scene, including two ambulances, three paramedic officers, a MERIT trauma doctor, a critical care paramedic, three BASICS doctors, and Midlands Air Ambulances from both Cosford and Strensham. Off-duty ambulance staff also stopped to provide assistance.
A spokesperson for the ambulance service confirmed that four people were involved — three occupants of the car and the driver of the HGV.
“The three patients from the car, two women and a man, were found to be in a critical condition,” the spokesperson said. “Despite advanced life support and the combined efforts of all emergency services, it became apparent nothing could be done to save them, and they were sadly confirmed deceased at the scene.”
The HGV driver, a man, sustained non-serious injuries and was transported to Worcestershire Royal Hospital as a precaution.
The A4103 remained closed for several hours while West Mercia Police conducted collision investigations. Drivers were urged to avoid the area and seek alternate routes.
Authorities have not yet released the identities of the victims, pending notification of their families.
