Police in Monroe are investigating a tragic triple homicide that left a father, his 2-year-old daughter, and another man dead early Tuesday morning.
Authorities responded around 2:30 a.m. to a residence on Grammont Street, near the city’s public works department, after reports of gunfire. When officers arrived, they discovered three victims—all suffering from gunshot wounds to the head.
The victims have been identified as Li Ojay “Ojay” Simpson, his 2-year-old daughter Jhersi Simpson, and Jamal Bank. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.
Family members say the tragedy has shattered their community. They described Ojay as a devoted father, and noted that Jhersi’s death came on her grandmother’s birthday—just a week after her mother’s.
Investigators have not yet released any information about a possible suspect or motive, but police say the case is being treated as a triple homicide.
Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact the Monroe Police Department or Crime Stoppers of North Delta.
This heartbreaking incident has left many in mourning as the community seeks justice for Ojay, Jhersi, and Jamal.
